Walking from John O'Groats to Lands EndJohn O'Groats is the most north-easterly point of Great Britain and Lands End is the most south-westerly. As the crow flies, it is 798 miles from one to the other, the shortest distance by road is 839 miles and I walked just under 1200 miles. On the 27th September 2007 I set off from John O'Groats with the aim to walk to Lands End. I was walking on my own without backup team and I spent most nights camping or in youth hostels, with the occasional treat of a B&B. I completed the walk in just under two months arriving in Lands End on the 21st November after 1168 miles. One of the reasons I was walking was to raise money for Chelmsford Sea cadets. Thanks to your generosity I managed to raise £1730 from my walk which will go towards purchasing new and much needed equipment for the unit. As I walked I wrote by blog on a daily basis and uploaded it when I could to this website, now I've finished the walk the blog is available to read in the correct order with the correct dates too You can find out more about the route I walked, see the photos I took whilst walking and read my completed blog by looking around this site.
